Meaning of Camba
In Latin, the bakery and brewery in a monastery were together referred to as “Camba”. The location of our brewery, Truchtlaching, played also a role in deciding our name. Truchtlaching was once a Celtic settlement, and since "Camba" meant “brew kettle” in the old Celtic language, the first half of our name pays tribute to the history of brewing even twice.
The second half of our name, "Bavaria", also originates from Truchtlaching. The village is located in the Chiemgau, one of the most beautiful holiday destinations in Bavaria.
