Gold and silver medals at European Beer Star

created by Camba

Last Wednesday the European Beer Star 2019 award ceremony took place at BrauBeviale in Nuremberg. Camba Bavaria was one of the big winners of the night with two gold and one silver medal. The awards are the acknowledgment for Camba’s philosophy of brewing handcrafted beers with natural, high qualitx ingredients.

Among Europe’s best beers are Camba Jager Weisse with a gold medal in the category of “New Style Hefeweizen” and Camba Dark Side as best “Bohemian Style Dark Lager”. Camba Imperial IPA won silver on the category of best “Imperial India Pale Ale”.

The winning beers

Each of the winning beers has its very own characteristics. The top fermented wheat beer Camba Jager Weisse has fruity hop notes and is brewed with Simcoe, Chinook, Hersbrucker and Tradition hops. The selection of hops give the beer its fruity, refreshing character.

Camba Dark Side is a balanced, dark lager beer with notes of cacao, coffee and roasting flavors which give the beer its high drinkability. With 8.9% and 77 IBU the Camba Imperial IPA is much stronger. Strong hop notes, a balanced malt aroma and a high bitterness define the character of the beer.

European Beer Star 2019

At the 16th edition of the internationally renowned European Beer Star 2,483 beers from 47 countries were registered – a new record and an increase of 6% compared to last year. A jury consisting of 145 brew masters, sommeliers and experts selected the best beers in a two-day tasting event in October. The jury objectively assessed the beers in terms of look, foam, smell, taste as well as type-specific characteristics.  The winning beers from 23 countries were awarded gold, silver and bronze at the prize-giving ceremony at the BrauBeviale fair in Nuremberg.
